Hello all, i am new to the Ubuntu, once i have seen on the intenet, that dansguardian is inbuilted within the ubuntu christian edition , so i installed it on my system , but it is not filtering with the default settings.

Do i need to change any settings in dansgurdan.conf or tinyproxy.conf or any others

when i enable the "dansguardian" , the message is displayed on firfox as

firefox is unable to connect "www. ........" server

and when disable it we can access internet normally

so what would be problem ?????????????

thanks

I'm with you. I've reinstalled over and over using the script from Ubuntu CE and restarted and restarted and using strict filtering it lets me right on through when I search stuff like warez and, um, words for female body parts. Not sure what the problem is.(Running Gutsy)

Are you still having this problem?
I'm currently having the same problem as sudheer123: no internet connection at all when using dansguardian.

Have you tried the parental control GUI?:

As far as I know, it comes with parental control integrated, as well as with several christian utilities like bible study tools and so on.
And of course, it has its own special theme.

They even offer a "convertme" script if you already have Ubuntu installed. ^^
Warning: There currently doesn't seem to be an "unconvert" script...
