Soundcard busy with Jack and Alsa applications

Hi this ismy first post,

I have been playing with jack connection kit, Qsynth and my master midi keyboard. Great programs, I enjoyed playing untill I wanted to hear an MP3 and play along. Unfortunately Totem says that the audio card is busy. The only solution is then to turn off jack or reset the pc. Also other alsa progs are not working. Please help.I'd really like to use youtube or play mp3 as I use Jack...

The solution you're looking for is a sound server manager called Pulse Audio. It can be implemented in Gutsy but it's a bit of work. If you wait until Hardy's release April 24th, Pulse Audio is fully implemented (from what I hear) and this issue you're having will disappear! :) (similes and eagerly waits 12 more days)
