I have a bit of a dilema. I upgraded recently to Ubuntu 8.04 from 7.10. I have a Kodak EasyShare C713 camera with a dock, and in 7.10 I was able to have it detected right when I pressed the transfer button. Now it won't work. I couldn't remember if I had to download anything for my camera to transfer or not, but I'm pretty sure I didn't. I read a post that it transfered with gThumb, and in 8.04 I would have to have gThumb open, so I opened it and pressed the button. I got a message box asking if I wanted to transfer, and I said yes, but then nothing happened. Anyone know what's up?

Wow, four days out there and only 52 views... Do people hate Kodak cameras THAT much? Anyway, bump.

I got it to work. Here's what I did:
First, install gtkam if it's not already there.
Next, open it and go to the add camera option.
Once there, connect the camera and do whatever is needs to transfer.
The camera should be detected as a PTP transfer usb device. Click ok and the camera should be in the sidebar as a folder tree. The pictures are probably in a folder called DCIM.
On a funny side note, I also figured out how to get my microphone to work this morning. Now all I need is to get my Palm III to sync and I will never have to boot into Window$ again!
