Has anyone managed to get the Tascam US-122L working under Ubuntu?

I tried to follow the convoluted advice given here:

http://www.pps.jussieu.fr/~smimram/tascam/ (http://http://www.pps.jussieu.fr/~smimram/tascam/)

and here:

http://wiki.briata.org/doku.php?id=testing_us122l_under_linux (http://wiki.briata.org/doku.php?id=testing_us122l_under_linux)

but couldn't download the kernel referenced in the instructions (it didn't exist) and didn't really understand it all anyway.

I'm running the latest version of Hardy on a Dell Vostro 1400. Any advice? (other than boot into XP)

Thanks!

I've had it 'working' for a while, but the upgrade to Hardy Heron seems to have broken it. Actually, I have the US-122, not the L, so I'm not sure if this will be the same thing. Regardless, I used essentially this process (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=431066) to set it up in Feisty.

That didn't work in Hardy, because apparently usx2yloader now assumes a different location for the firmware. This thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=734730) explains the problem and solution.

I believe the 122 is a different chipset than the 122l, hence the waiting time....different box. I'm dual-booting as well (XP, Ubuntu Ultimate 1.8(Hardy)).
