So I got this DFI motherboard (LanParty LT-P35-T2R) that came with a so-called "Bernstein Audio Module" sound card that uses Realtek ALC885 HD audio. I'm running Gutsy 64-bit and everything else works except for the sound. I would really love to use this for surround sound, but I can't even get it to play any sound so far. I downloaded the alsa driver from realtek's website and followed instructions and it still doesn't work. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem or a similar one and how I might go about getting it to work. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated, I'm new to using Linux in general and I haven't had problems like this with Ubuntu before.

Is both analogue and digital sound gone?
Though I don't have that specific board, the only problem I've encountered is that my digital output didn't work until I put the SP/DIF volume slider all the way down to zero. But that has been mentioned in numerous other threads.
