I currently have an IBM Thinkpad 380ED with:
Pentium MMX 167Mhz CPU
48MB Ram
5GB HD
Currently its just sat in my room with DSL on it not doing much at all.
Would it be possible to turn it into a synthesiser of some kind, using linux?
It does have higher specs than many digital hardware synths.
I was thinking some kind of customised distro that just boots a vst, which can be controlled with the trackpoint mouse and the keyboard to trigger sounds?
Any suggestions?
