Anyone have any experiences with malware or viruses on linux? I can't seem to find too many stories.
I know windows is so full of viruses, and the scanners only find the tip of the iceberg, because the experts laugh when it comes to anti-virus software, because it only finds specific code and similar, but there are so many other routes and methods uncovered all the time. exploits are always being fixed, why did microsoft leave it so open?
The worst security flaw of all is that almost everyone on computers use the same windows operating systems and their file and registry locations all have the same pattern with the same security set ups and everything...windows doesn't like to make too many things "unique" in it's setups. I personally think the entire system needs a new system of storing it's settings. The Registry is what's truely killing window's the most these days, besides internet malware and viruses...the registry hinders offline installations of windows through age after installing much software, or just installing a few bulky peices of software like anything made by Adobe for instance...wow they bulk their media software. I don't even use some of those things like the media bridge, etc...but it insists on bulking it in there.
