View Full Version : Login problem that may be related to time changes

I've received the following error message from a number of computers and browsers when trying to login to this forum.

"Wrong username or password. You have used up your failed login quota! Please wait 15 minutes before trying again. Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Click here!"

If I ssh to a computer that has my login saved in a cookie I still have access enabling me to post this message.

When trying to work out why I couldn't login I came across a post about vbulletin locking people out after a server time change.

There were some recent posts about time zone changes.

If the two are related there could be a number of people unable to login to the forums.

Can anyone confirm that they can log into this forum using the username and password method rather than cookies?

Suggest trying on another browser in case you get locked out.

Doesn't matter now.

Can login again.

Did anyone else have the same problem or was it just me?

Got an Account locked email from Ubuntuforums.

The IP address detected was our proxy shared by about 4000 computers so I'm guessing someone else may have had 5 failed login attempts and my login attempt failed because of the same detected IP address.
