Hi,
I need a bit of advice/help. I have been having issues with my wireless on my macbook (santa rosa). Here is the actual problem:
- I am using Ubuntu 7.10 (Gustsy Gibbon)
- I am using ndiswrapper
- I can see the different routers/access points which I am able to connect to
- I can attempt to connect to the location
- I CANNOT obtain an IP address from my wireless connection
- I can connect on Leopard, Vista, and XP Pro (on the same MacBook)
I have tried many solutions that haven't worked which include the following:
- Setup WPA and WEP encryption
- Tried on two different routers
- Reformatted and reinstalled Ubuntu.
- I have searched the forums for any fixes to my solution with no luck.
If someone can please post me a link on a fix or even just tell me how to fix this problem where I cannot get an IP address, but still see wireless networks, it would really help me out.
Thanks in advance,
Aoi
SOLVED - Pls read bellow
Mkay I recently found out what the problem was and managed to find the thing causing this problem.
I have a Belkin N1 Wireless Router as my main router. For users with the same model please do not update your firmware to the beta version otherwise you'll end up with the same problem as i had.
This is also the same with the N1 Vision Router.
I had to pull out my old Linksys Wireless G to verify that it was a router compatibility with Ubuntu 7.10
