When hardy comes out, I plan on installing it. What I want to do is install windows first, and set up all the drivers etc... then I want to proceed in installing hardy, and partition the drive through hardys manager. I want to do 80% hardy, 20% windows. Is that 20% enough for itunes, and just to run itunes only for my ipod?

it depends on what amount of space 20% of your hard drive is! i would give windows a minimum of 10GB if XP.

but if the windoze were to be vista, my reccomendation would be 30GB at least.

in that case you better try using a virtual machine like vmware or virtual box and then install xp and itunes, if you are installing xp just for itunes.
although you better try some programs that manages your ipod within ubuntu, like amarok for example or else, unless you need to make the ipod upgrades

I've never had good luck trying to use my ipod with rythmbox or amarok.

It's been so long that I've tried it I've pretty much forgotten. I may install it on debian later and give you all a report. Maybe if I can get it working debian, I won't worry about a windows partition when hardy comes out. ;)
