I have one copy of XP. I just changed from VMWare to Virtualbox, since Hardy doesn't have VMWare in Synaptic. Now I can't activate Windows in VirtualBox-it claims I have another copy installed on a different machine (i.e. the VMWare "machine"). But I can't install VMWAre to de-activate THAT machine.
Help!

Either:
Ring Microsoft and tell them you want to install your XP on a new machine and that the old one is no longer usable.
Download vmware from vmware site and install manually - you need to compile some of the modules for your Hardy installation.
Of course, once you've done 2. you won't need virtual box.
