I should have known better I was impatient for the release of 8.04 and I was sitting around today and I decided to play with the beta. What I should have done was installed them on separate hard drives. Well I learned my lesson I can't get myth to open properly it starts but the splash screen has no text. I'm using G.A.N.T and all I get is the Grey background so I'm backing up my files to another machine and going back to 7.10. When things are good leave well enough alone. Will I never learn as far as I can tell mythconverg crashed that is the error message and I can't find a fix.

I don't mean to offend you or anything, but have you ever considered using one or two "," and "." to make your posts at least remotely understandable?

I don't mean to offend you or anything, but have you ever considered using one or two "," and "." to make your posts at least remotely understandable? There fixed it up a bit for the grammar patrol. Anyway looks like I updated from a corrupt alternate install cd. As usual it is a case of operator error.:lolflag:

I can understand now :p
Hardy is beta so yeah, breakage is bound to happen. You dont necesarily have to upgrade from a CD though, you can upgrade from ubuntu itself, but yes, it can still break.

I think it would have been alright if I had checked the md5 sum of the image. I guess what had happened is my torrent download was corrupt and I got a bad iso image. I think I will be patient and just wait for the release version.:)
