Does anybody know of any halfway decent program that shows maps of all the railroads in North America? I need it for a project and cannot find any decent atlases, even in book form (even Rand McNally's kinda suck).

Any help would be appreciative. This also must be for Linux, as I only run Ubuntu. I could maybe run a simple Windows program using wine, but I'd prefer F/OSS.

Try google earth with a railroad map overlay.

>sudo apt-get install googleearth

You may have to do some searching to find railroad landmarks (from trainspotting websites) that you can import into google earth.
