Hi gamers:
I'm looking for games - free games, open source games, proprietary games - all for the Linux platform: 3D ,shoot-em-ups, platform scrollers, but most of all online multiplayers.
URL's, software houses that are putting out - that kind of thing. I'm Googling - but you are the pro's -
I need you _all_ on this one - our team does. The _biggest_ list of online stores, the best places you know, free games - anything - GAMES + LINUX = put it here, ;)
SHOW ME THE GAMES!
Thanks in advance gamers...

Synaptic Package Manager.
Scroll to "games" in the left hand window.
Look at all the games in the right hand window.
Leave google to the porn searchers.
Oh, btw, most of the games in the right hand window have some explanation in the bottom right hand window telling if they are multiplayer or not. I'm going to be checking them out, too.

Hmm, well these are my favourites right now:
UT2k4, America's Army, Enemy Territory, Battle for Wesnoth, Nexuiz, Quake3, Never Winter Night's, FreeCiv and zSnes for playing snes roms.
What I realy would like to see (and play) is linux-MMORPG (good one with nice graphics).

Well, since you ask. I found that The Linux Game Tome (http://www.happypenguin.org/) offers quite a comprehensive list.

I'm reading and doing everything you're saying - keep it coming..
Thank you thank you thank you!
You guys rock - you want a job done fast - ask a gamer: they've got the reactions, lol
Any more anywhere in the world, oh respected players?
TIA
===
And outside those available - what do you want ported and which software houses are open to Linux development - which ones are the nasty ones who say "next year" or "never?" Please share you knowledge. :)
Kuolio - is there anyway I can get stats on these games (users online etc) and see what percentages of OS's are used? Other than for example, downloads etc...
Yeah - and where are your fav. downloading sites for games like AASF?
TY again ;)

I'd spotted that several folks were having problems with the install due to this program being missing. It's called 'dialog' conveniently enough and is in Synaptic is you search under that. I got it with a simple apt get install dialog, and installing planeshift went without a hitch.

If you're looking for proprietary games, you could try checking out what they have @ http://www.tuxgames.com/
not sure if this is what you want, though

kahping - this is very good, too. Proprietary games - yes. Lots of those pls. I want games to make people go "wow" - that's cool. Great graphics and gameplay..online multiplayer etc.. and what about (small) kids games?
Muhammed: sig. : "The right man in the wrong place..." -Exactly how I feel, lol.
BLTicklemonster - erm, why are all the games KDE?
Thanks all..
