Im usually pretty good with this sort of design stuff, but I cant figure this out.

Ive got a logo, its flat right now, and Im trying to make it look like the team logos here in the photo below. They have an angled and bulging 3D effect to them, with some shading and lighting. I cant find any how-tos on the net how to achieve this effect. Would anyone have any tips for me? Much appreciated! Thanks!

You should probably mention which software are you using.

With Photoshop:
I would use transform tools, difference clouds & layers with effects. Should be quite easy thing to do. Basically just transform tools to modify the shape and perspective, clouds & layers to create the correct lights. Of course you could also use just basic brushes to make the logo shiny.

Im using PSCS2 and GIMP if need be.

Yah, I hear what you are saying :) but anything I come up with just doesnt look *quite* like those pro logos.

I found a nice tutorial here: http://www.tutorialallstar.com/photoshop/drawing/tutorial-to-create-a-3d-metallic-logo-in-photoshop/

Describing how to use the lens correction filter. Works great. I used it on the LA Galaxy logo (with David Beckham on the team).
