I have Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and would like to get it to work on Linux. I have made Guild Wars, Steam, Safari Browser and other programs to work on Linux using Wine and some free Wine add-ons using the Wine DLLs. However the problem with roller coaster tycoon 3 is Wine's problem with Direct X. I have a few WinXP install cds but I would really like to run it natively. If I need to replace the Wine DLLs with Windows native ones I can do that easily I just need to know any steps to maybe get this working.

Other info (Ask if you need more)

Kubuntu 7.10
NVIDIA GeForce 6200 with drivers installed

I am sorry to say this, but according to its Wine AppDB page (http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=2600), the game does not run at all with Wine. :(

Actually it apparently works on Mandriva 2008 ;)

So all hope is not lost...though chances are it'll be awkward to get running in Ubuntu :(

Info found here (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=3781&iTestingId=18354)

Oh! Good news! Joeb454, I believe it would be helpful to linuxguymarshall if you could post here the version of Wine you are using and any specific steps you followed to make this game to run.

If you can tell me what version of wine you have it would help.

How would I go about getting a No-CD.exe . Should I rip the ISO?

Don't ask about No CD cracks, its against the forum TOS (piracy issues). Remember, Google is your friend.
