I have the MSI NX8500GT video card and am trying to get it's SPDIF passthrough to work.

By way of background, the video card has a spdif input that can connect to either a spdif header (on your motherboard) or coax spdif output from your sound card, and then mix the digital audio into its HDMI output.

I've hooked this up, and, although the SPDIF from my audigy 2 is working indepentently, I can't seem to get the hdmi and spdif to work.

I'm thinking this might be a popular card for MythTV users. Does anyone have this working? Is there a driver trick I need to do to enable this feature?

Here's a link to the card on newegg:

I'm looking for help on this exact same issue. If anyone knows if this is possible, or not, please share the info!

Sigh, I haven't gotten working yet, either. Please post if you find out anything.

I found this post that indicates it will work with a soon to be released driver:

There is another post in that same thread that said this is working with ATI HD Radeon cards. But, I believe those cards work differently, they don't take an external audio input.

That's promising news. I'll definitely be checking the nvidia website for drivers updates.
