does any one know a free malware program for windows?
and how to fix drop shadows for desktop icons?

AVG and Avast! are both free and work pretty well.... if you have a really nasty issue you might try the 30day trial that ESET offers for NOD32.... excellent software right there...

Storm (also known as NUWAR.TROJAN) is a free malware program, but you don't want a malware program; you want an anti-malware program!

Right click on My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Settings button under Performance. There you would find the checkbox indicating "Use drop shadows for..." (maybe the second last checkbox)
