The Penny Arcade folks are launching an online distribution system for indie videogames, and they're making a Linux version. Think it'll help encourage game developers to make cross platform games?

The Greenhouse is a new distribution platform operated by Greenhouse Interactive, dedicated to supporting independent game development worldwide. We help indie developers get their games into the hands of gamers, and that gives gamers easy access to new and innovative games that they might otherwise have missed.

Interesting news. I suppose it will make more indie game makers to create games that also work on Linux.

Whilst I'm not sure it will provide a surge of games, competition is always good and at the least it would provide a potential and much easier way for people to get games for Linux and know they will be compatible. Maybe we could even see games with a wrapper/script to setup wine to get them running nice (Somewhat like EVE and Cedega)
