Hi, I've been using linux and ubuntu for a long time .But ı have never been interested in 3D design apps and this kind of stuff. Then I found KPovModeler and saw povray. I read some documents but I couldnt find any information for a total newbie who wants to run povray in linux. I learnt that I need a povray.conf and screen.ini file to start simple tasks. I havent find any documentation or howto to edit these files. Can anyone help me to start program for a simple task or give any links?

I don't know if that helps but I'm starting to use pov-ray too and I'm using KPovModeler. It's a modeler very easy to install and simple to use. Hope this can help.

But POV-Ray and KPovmodeler are very very very different! You don't even get to code in KPovmodeler :( I'm still finding a way to install POV-Ray too :( My current resort is dual-booting Windows...
