Looks like Mark Shuttleworth sold his company at the right time. VeriSign paid him over $500 million for Thawte. eBay is paying $370 million for VeriSign.

EDIT: posted too quickly, they are only buying PART of VeriSign... Perhaps still of some interest here because of the Shuttleworth connection, though.
