How Do I Install A theme

I'm new to Ubuntu and I need help.

Is there anything that I need to download or how do I install a new theme that I have Downloaded?

visit:
www.gnome-look.org

download themes
and then click on SYSTEM--PREFERENCES--APPEAREANCE
now click the theme tag and then just drag the downloaded themes onto the window
click on the theme and WOW its ready...not like crappy windows showing an infinite Please Wait..
Also you may want some exotic themes which need emerald (a utiltiy).
for that download emerald theme manager, by siimply searching your Synaptic Package Manager.

You can also click on install from the appearance menu and select the tar package that you have downloaded. Themes once installed can be used for a number of times.
