I'm new to the forums, and well, linux. So, How would I get compiz-fusion installed? I've seen crazy video's of it on youtube. I've been trying for a while now. Help me... Please...
Oh! Right, I have Ubuntu 7.10 and I'm on a virtual machine. Will it work, even though I'm on a virtual machine?

How to Setup Compiz Fusion (http://forlong.blogage.de/article/2007/8/29/How-to-set-up-Compiz-Fusion)
I don't know if it will work in a VM, however.

Just curious... Why the VM?
You know you want to be 100% Ubuntu... Admit it, you'll feel better for it. And what better time than now, what with the free beer and all.

Wait, I've heard that you need to goto System>Prefrences>Appearence then the Visual Effects tab, then Custom, but it says, "Desktop Effects could not be enabled".

If your in a virtual machine, desktop effects wont work.
If it's installed on your system, and it doesn't work, post the output of:
lspci | grep VGA
You probably just need graphic drivers installed.
