Hi all,

For a sportsclub I want to make a shared internet connection. Unfortunetaly, the clubs home is quite remote, so there is no ADSL or cable available.

I want to make a connection by UMTS or HSDPA (we've coverage over there). The ISP ships the connection with an USB modem. Since there are no UMTS or HSDPA routers: I want to create my own linux router. I love and use ubuntu and in in the past I made my own router with freesco.

The question is: Can anyone point me to the distro (or howto) who can do the above?

TIA

Linksys actually does have a 3G router (WRT54G3G) but it only takes a pcmcia/cardbus card unfortunately. Dunno if you can try and swap out the USB from the service provider.

You could probably adapt this, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=111972

Also have a look at the Vodafone Mobile Connect card driver client for linux.

A program like Firewall Builder makes it easy to setup complex ip tables rules.
