I'm working my way through the beginners guide because last time I tried to install it, I did something, and Arch refused to login. I have to say, it is a tad more difficult than Ubuntu, but I'm sure I can get used to it.
I'm planning on installing KDE. I've only run it once before but I liked the control, and Arch is all about being user-centric so I thought "Why not?"

yeah arch is really nice and fast. I would have stuck with it if I could have gotten my wireless to work. Anyway, good luck. BTW rolling release is the future XD

I'm planning on installing KDE.

I would recommend KDEmod (http://kdemod.ath.cx/), once again only install what you need, makes for a lean and fast kde install.

+1 for KDEMod if you are looking at KDE.

I neither use KDE not am I a KDE fan. But the KDEMod folks have done some real good work. Check it out.
