View Full Version : oh, the irony!

Ok, so i was waiting for a reply in the general help forum, and idly started clicking things, and clicked the MSN link on my name. When this is clicked, a popup window opens, with 2 options: to add me as a friend, and to send me an IM. To my surprise, a dialog box appears telling me I need internet explorer for the MSN functions to work!!!

isn't this a bit backwards to say we're a linux community? I know it's down to vBulletin's code, and no one really ever uses the function ... but i think the msn feature needs changing to accommodate firefox, and pidgin/amsn/kopete

btw i'm not offering to do that, i don't know the first thing about coding, although i hear vBulletin is very easy to customize....

Strange & funny.

The person who has the access to the vBulletin code would be the site admin(s). The action script associated with that butterfly gif would have to be changed. Shouldn't be too difficult. Hope someone notices this and does away with the existing irony ;)

Well, the AOL one isn't working either.

(Not that I care for AOL or MS)

They can't fix it though since vBulliten is proprietary. :(

The source is available to edit by those have a license.

Don't spread misinformation. vBulliten isn't free, but it isn't locked in.
