The latest round of updates has disabled my frontend. Now when I launch myth-frontend I get "illegal instruction" messages. Google seems to point this being caused by trying to use SSE on non-SSE capable hardware. My frontend is a low end Via machine that doesn't support SSE.

I was surprised that a change of this nature would be introduced in just an update. But now, I just want to fix it. Any ideas? Google search also suggested disabling de-interlacing but I cannot find ANYTHING on how/where to do that.

Thanks

This was entirely my own fault. I just realized that I had forced the upgrade to all the "held back" versions...

Now to figure out how to recover...

I think someone has an "epiafix" PPA, maybe you can work together with them to come up with a solution. Search the forums to find them..
