I made a CD label for Hardy Heron based on the background (right now only Desktop edition, more will be added later). Sources are available here (http://smartboy.salocinlinux.org/db/HardyCdCoverSource.tar.bz2). Tell me what you think. :)

Looks really good! I like the "heron" you have used as pattern over the brown color, great idea! I tried to make a label myself, but I used the old wallpaper as pattern over the brown:

I used hardy's default background to make it cause I thought I would make it look similar to the desktop. :)

EDIT: I updated my image with a 32 bit text.

Can I suggest that CD labels be made a few mm bigger than the actual disc, and with no cutout for the hub?
I find that having a large white crescent around the edge or hub of a disc because of misalignment is most frustrating.](*,)

I don't know the actual size of the disk, I just made this from a template. What size would you like, though? :)

This is great! But I agree, Please make no cutout for the hub. I can stretch it to avoid the outside crescent.

Thank you so much.

How can I change the text in the CD label? What font type are you using for the text?

Download the sources. With those, you can change the text. You need Inkscape to do that. I just use Ubuntu Titling (the origional ubuntu title font with capital letters and added symbols).

Thanks so much for making this. I made my own modified version from it, with optional "alternate cd" text and a few other changes.

It looks like the lozenges weren't applied correctly. To apply them correctly, cut the lozenge, use the magic wand to select around the outside of the circle, and make a new layer. Then go edit > paste into to paste the lozenge. Also, lowering the transparency slightly adds a little to the CD cover imo.
