View Full Version : [SOLVED] 8.04 beta install crashes every time at "getting time from network time serv

Every time I try to install 8.04 beta it reboots in the middle of the install just as the install reports "looking for the time from a network time server".

I presume this is because my setup needs a static ip address and dns numbers to get an internet connection. I always have to set this up manually after any install. Is this why my attempt at an 8.04 install fails? If so, is there any way to turn this part off?

EDIT: Sorry - this may not be the point at which the crash/reboot happens - it just appears that way because it is the last message up on the screen. I am still investigating.

Don't waste any time on this

I would delete the post but can't find how to do it!

EDIT2: Sorry - this was a false alarm. I had forgotten that I had changed from the onboard video to an nvidia fx5200 card. It was this that was causing the problems during the install. Not sure why and am looking into it.

If anyone knows hoe to delete a post let me know and I will delete this one
