I finally broke down and payed $15 for Cedaga because I wanted to play Civ3. Both Cedega and the game installed fine, but Civ3 froze when I got to the game setup screen. Cedega supports the game according the the Transgames website, so I assume the problem is on my end. I ran a systems diognosic using Point2Play which noted that my system doesn't have 3D acceleration. Might this be why my game doesn't work? And if so, how can I get 3D acceleration to work? It was fine when I had windows. My computer has a Pentium III processor and my video card is a Mesa GLX Indirect with driver version 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.2.1), if that helps.

I'm kind of new to Ubuntu, so I'm not sure where the equivilant of the Control Panel Systems tab is located. My computer's kind of a mutt, but there's my processor and video card info. I'm also running Ubuntu 5.04.

yes, but the manufacturer of your video card is?
Nvidia, ATI, Diamond, 3dfx, Matrox?

Could it be Intel? I think that's what it says in Device Manager:
Vendor: Intel Corp.
Device: 82810E DC-133 GMCH [Graphics

Isn't that an onboard card?
When I google I get this on Nvidia homepage:
Intel® 810E Chipset, Intel® 810E2 Chipset:
* Intel(R) 82810E DC-133 System and Graphics Controller

Then you perhaps should take a look at this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=27029&highlight=i810
