kind of like a normal user with a few more privileges, like being able to edit your own thread title, or your own poles, and ability to read jailed posts, stuff like that.

What do you think?

There are moderators that do not mod the entire forum, and only certain aspects of it. They do not have coloured names though, so they don't stand out.

Not sure why you would want to read the jail though :D
It's mostly similar to your email spam box.

Worse, because we have to look at it, at least once.

Now we know what spam filters feel like...

You know, when a new mod gets in, he/she gets full mod access, and full trust, right away. I like it. Sub-forum mods are there because of special projects or language handled there. And they have full access to the sub-forum.

I'm not sure I actually like the idea of minimods. If we trust someone, why not give full mod status?

better experiance for the end user, somethimes it can be very anoying to haft to ask to do everything, yes, all you modsare very willing to help, but i, at least, dont like to have to ask to edit things that i made. anyway it is just an idea, i am not trying to start an argument, i am just trying to say that it feals somewhat restricted sometimes. :)

xhhus: no problem, I was thinking out loud too :)
Different classes of members or different classes of mods, I do not know. I like is the way it is. May be others will see the use of an intermediate class between members and mods. Cheers.

Maybe a bunch of people to handle spam? That would be nice...

(Yes, I am trying to give the dirty work to others)

As it is..you can say that there are 2 classes of staff. Administrators and us lowly mods.

Perhaps someone to handle the spam would be nice, though :D

Yes, there are some more restricted staff with elevated priveleges for specific forums.

There really isn't a need for more. Need drives the recruitment I believe.

Are you asking for the ability to edit your own thread titles and polls?

Do you want this for everyone or just some?

Either way, it isn't going to happen most likely.

(You can request changes to threads and polls)

That said, if the OP really wants the thread closed, I'm happy to start trolling. ;)

It can be quite interesting though. I read stuff that sits in there regularly. Just for the fun of it.

I like these smileys - can they be added to std forum smileys? so it will be easier to add them?

Any efforts to add smilies to the on site smilies results in a license hunt, so it is best to hot link.

I use Opera, which has a notes feature, and keep all my favourites there for easy copying.
