How to get Metal slug working with XMAME ?

Hello,

metal is a such very famous game, and still tricky to get it work with Xmame.
Is there anyone that has a good advice/ howto to have it successfully working ?

Search this forum for getting SDLMame + frontend working first; xmame is terribly out of date now.

Then you'll just need the Metal Slug ROM plus the Neo-Geo BIOS in your MAME ROM directory.

Not hard at all, really.
