Hi everybody,

I am an asidual LaTeX user and, since Hoary, have been using UTF-8 via latex-ucs on my documents. However, a while ago I realised that latex-ucs had become obsolete in Debian testing. The same happened in Hardy last week or so. Does anybody know why? Is it no longer needed when using texlive? Is it unmantained upstream? Or should I mail Martin Pitt (the Debian and Ubuntu mantainer) about it?

Cheers,

Miguel

The package texlive-latex-recommended now ships the files from latex-ucs so you might give that a try.

Thank you very much, LaserJock. I somehow knew I could count on you. It happens I already have texlive-latex-recommended, but as I've been writing lately mostly in english I didn't really notice if ucs was working or not.
