After upgrading to 0.21 I was disappointed to see that the mythtv wide screen was installed by default.

The two themes that are installed by default in my opinion are dull.

Can you please use deviantart to create the default theme.
Like this idea in Brainstorm.

With projects like Elisa that are visually stunning MYthTV needs to pick up it's game on this front.

It's been a while since I've installed it, but I believe Mythbuntu setup has an option to install extra themes.

Just got done with my first install ever of Mythbuntu. Picked a theme, then updated and out of habit selected all updates

Only THREE themes now? I really don't like any of them...

why'd the others disappear?

I don't see how to add or change current themes, either. Do I have to do a completely new install?

Look in apt. They're in synaptic but in their own packages now.

new users aren't going to look in synaptic.

First impressions really count, only Macs seem to understand this concept. :(

First time users aren't going to see this.

This was a side effect of the backport. The 8.04 version has them all in place.

But what is theme is it going to be initially loaded with 8.04 (i.e. default)?

The 'Mythbuntu' theme is the default theme on 8.04. It had a few metrics changed from 7.10 variant, has a clock added, and uses liberation fonts instead of msttcorefonts.

If you (or anyone else) would like to improve the default theme though, we are in dire need of some talented artwork folks to help with it (and other theme related things)

No offence to whoever created that theme, but it looks *awful*; any one of the other themes would be a better choice. I personally use MythCentre, its by far and away the best IMHO.

The clock is a GREAT addition, its really useful to have I applaud whoever got that in.

So if I want the choices back I can either reinstall 7.10 and not do the update, or install the beta?

Honestly...I'm so used to Windows part of me just wants to say "screw it"...not sure I have the time or desire to learn all this new stuff.

sure does look slick though!

If you add my PPA to your apt sources then you can get the new themes for 0.21 in gutsy now. They are in the process of being backported, but you can get them from here if you are impatient:
