Mic problem

I bought Dell inspiron 1525 laptop, I can't get the Microphone working...
attached is a picture of my AlsaMixer screen
in the Field "Mic as 0" I can't change the volum,, any idea how to solve this problem?

Which microphone? Built-in digital, built-in analog or external microphone using one of the jacks?

Any idea how to solve this on AMD64?? The backports are for i386, and I cannot find the correct source anywhere....
