Two days ago I installed 7.10 x64 on a Compaq Presario c710tu. Everything is working fine except for the wi-fi. I've installed the restricted firmware required, and I tried replacing network manger with Wicd after reading it may help network problems. It doesn't seem to connect with the wi-fi chipset at all, if I try to search for networks it just instantly replies none have been found. I know several are in range, as if I switch to Windows it detects them with a strong signal. It's a Broadcom chipset, a 4311 I think (or something like that). I'm completely new to Ubuntu so I really need some help with this.
Edit: When looking for Windows drivers to try, only Vista x64 drivers are available and only XP drivers work (apparently). What should I do?
