[SOLVED] Ubuntu Gutsy x64 locking up shortly after boot

Been running ubuntu with no problems dual monitor, compiz, multiple apps.

I rebooted today and then the desktop started locking up about 3 mins after desktop has loaded.

I checked the ram, its okay
I ran FSCK
I removed any extra session startup items
I tried gnome safe mode

It's still locking up, I'm using an nvidia card with the restricted drivers on this dual display without any problems for weeks now.

I did do a few software updates and I did add getdeb to my repository list yesterday.

I removed the recently added repos from my sources.list and the problem went away.
