Give it a try. Some stuff will work, some stuff won't. I've been fairly lucky so far with WINE but there are no guaruntees.

Yea you should be able to. I run Gutsy 64bit and I've got WINE up and running with out a problem. It seems to be running the same for me as it does on my 32bit systems.

Have a read there, just follow the instructions for 7.10. It should work, thats how I got mine working.
Hope that helps.

Hi just a though seeing as most of the software that runs in wine is 32 bit would it be easier to install 32bit wine to run 32bit programs?

Wine is 32-bit program in a 64-bit package (so that it sets up correctly on a 64-bit system). It cannot run 64-bit Windows programs.
Wine can ONLY run 32-bit Windows programs. Wine on 64-bit Ubuntu runs the same as it does on 32-bit Ubuntu.

Thanks for clarifying that.
