animations won't turn on

i've tried and tried and tried and i can't seem to make it so that the animations stay turned on. what do i have to do? i've already tried changing the preferences and that didn't work, even with exporting and importing the information. help please....

Are you referring to CCSM? You need to create a profile.

In CCSM main window, click on Preferences (lower left of the window). Next to Profile, click on [+] button, type in a name. Under Backend, choose "Flat-file Configuration Backend".
