View Full Version : Shocked

Well I'm shocked. I'm a windows user and I'm shocked at just how good this os is. I've just connected to my NT network with no problems at all and I can switch between local and wireless without any trouble at all.
It makes windows look like a badly designed toy and as long as I can figure out how to get the hang of all the command line stuff then I think I'm going chuck windows in the bin and install this on my network.

I found the gnome GUI easy to adopt, and was pleasantly surprised to find things that required extra software in windohs just a click away. [such as burning an iso cd] the one click solutions to long standing problems are growing in number and I find it fully ready for noobs such as my self. [I have to get a cheat sheet whenever arranging pairs B4 crimping on the lan plug] Ubuntu, an excellent choice, it just works.

Welcome: Oh and dont forget not much to worry about as far as viruses and spyware. Overall Linux can be locked down and secured better than any version of Windows.
Also check out some of the free Linux games you can download.
Good luck and keep us posted.

if you want to learn more about the command line:
it's a good introduction into shell scripting ;) beware, it's addictive ;)
