My Xbox 360 Controller doesn't seem to be working with GFCE Ultra NES Emulator (and I assume with all other linux programs).

Is there something I can do, to remedy this

Or will I have to purchase a different controller?

If I do indeed have to purchase a different controller, will any old controller work?

any suggestions?

Is the 360 controller Wired or Wireless? I THINK that the wired ones work out of the box, not positive. And if it's wireless, I'm not sure if you can get it to work. Also, if you do buy a new controller, most should work. I have some crappy 15$ one from Wal-Mart that not many people have (judging from Google :P) and it works out of the box so most should work. Also I have a PS2 to USB adapter and even that works.

I have to say that all the USB controllers I've tried have worked as soon as they've been plugged in in Ubuntu, as has a Playstation controller connected via a no-name adapter. The only controller I've had to do anything to install was an old gameport one.

It's a 360 wired controller. The problem is, when I bring up the GFCE Ultra NES Emulator. And I go to input and I try to configure the controller, nothing is registering.

The green circle is flashing, so I know the controller is working.

You have to press the the buttons twice, RhynoWoody - I'm not sure, but I think it may be configuring two controllers together.
