no sound in rosegarden, jack

Hi!
I am a newbee in this matter. I have just started to use linux and i have installed ubuntustudio on my computer. Everything is working fine but i cant get applications that uses jack to work. I have tried to set up jack and it seems like jack ios working. When i start rosegarden everything looks fine but there is no sound. I have a realtek alc888 audio card. If someone has a solution to my problem i will be very happy:)

Hi there,
This is a very common problem. Do a search for Jack in this forum. You will see that fiddling with the setup by trial and error fixes some problems.

I also found an article in Linux Format magazine very helpful. It explained some basic set up of Jack to run Audacity. The issue was March 2008 I think (possibly February). They have been running some useful articles on recording of late. Well worth a look if this interests you.
