Using gnumeric, I am trying to track 3 variables over 4 categories and a bubble plot works well at doing this. The problem is i can not make the bubbles relative size fluctuate according to the third variable i am presenting. All four bubble stay the sames.
I have each bubble's diameter supposedly mapped to the "z" variables. They way it is set-up means that their sizes should be relative to the bubble with the maximum value.

What data are you using for this plot? Please check in the graph editor. You might also send me a sample file so that I can tell you what is wrong.

Here you go. "Z" is the variable that should determine relative bubble size of the four and I have set it apart in green in the four colored categories. As you can see, the bubbles remain the same size even though "Z" varies from -1.46 to 4.79.
The negative is accounted for by the option that you click in the bubble chart properties that adds negative values to the relative bubble size scale.
I am totally lost. I bet it is something stupid and under my nose at this point.
EDIT: Uploaded ods because "gnumeric" file type not valid. I am using gnumeric though.

the ods file does not contain any plot. Probably because the export code is missing in gnumeric (I'll check that). Which are the x, y and z data you used for you bubble plot?
