Greetings!
Edit: Well, as there was still confusion on the 'debate' side of this thread, I can see where it became confusing. I'm not looking to compare or debate, say which is better, they're both great and have their own unique settings, but I'm looking for these in particular if I can combine them, hoping they're not unique to each OS.
...
First off, I would like to say that K/Ubuntu is a marvelous OS, though it does take some time getting used to it and configuring it all. I never realized how uneducated I was while using Windows.... My eyes are open, and I'm hoping not to close them. If I can configure this the way I like, you've got me on board no doubt. XD
Which brings me to........
Kubuntu versus Ubuntu.
What are the main differences? I began with Ubuntu, and found that KDE offered a bit of a better navigation interface a bit more similar to Windows. While I am all for new things, I did like the simplicity of maneuvering through files and folders with ease and comfort. Ubuntu so far is foreign and I keep forgetting how to get to my .."C Drive".
So yeah, enough rambling..
The differences I've seen so far is that, on Kubuntu I cannot get the cube to work, nor "Emerald" which allows skins for your browser interface.
On Kubuntu I can set a wallpaper per desktop, but on Ubuntu it's one per all, and I used to change my WPs almost daily on Windows.. I thought this would be great if I could configure it properly. Sadly, not yet.
I haven't tinkered TOO much as of yet, as I was trying to save my harddrive that had windows on it, which ironically crashed after installing Ubuntu onto this new HD.
..Coincidence? I'm still reluctant to lose all my data that remained, but .. ...Well. It no go. v__v
Aside from the differences, I can't seem to move Avant Window Navigator from bottom to top... :(
AND HOW DOES ONE REMOVE APPLICATIONS/PLACES/SYSTEM. :( Someone has just the icon of Ubuntu and it looks cool. D:
I will possibly use this thread for a generalization of all my GUI questions and concerns, instead of cluttering the board. If you've got the knowledge, and desire to help my noob-self... Check here every now and then. XD Much appreciation and a billion thank-yous in advance!
