I am sorry if this is not right place for my post, however I just left ELIVE.ORG (org!)
If you want to try their distro you must at least have a credit card. They aggressively extort a "donation".
See yourself:
<Elive is free and made with pleasure for your pleasure, but free does not mean "no cost" . I spend all my <time developing Elive. It is my choice. Your choice is whether or not downloading Elive is worth a <donation. I have not put a minimum donation, because I realize that many of you are students with very <limited resources. I thank You for showing interest in Elive, and hope to see you in #elive on IRC!>
If I am not crazy "donation" means voluntary financial support that doesn't affect FREE download (one may donate or may not). Moreover the guy DO PUT MINIMUM DONATION of $5 + one have to enter his credit card private information (assumed that any student have a credit card).
I am not about FRAUD here but my simple question is
DOES SOMEBODY TRIED ELIVECD?

is it based on linux?

EDIT: it is based on Debian. I seriously hope that this never takes off and that the debian community and all branches find out about it

Tried an earlier version; a direct link to the file was posted on DistroWatch because I think he, too, disagreed with the forced donation. I'm on the fence, though--I can appreciate that the guy needs to get some kind of compensation for his time.

It wasn't bad... mostly just a demo of Enlightenment, though. I find Arch with e-cvs is a bit more fun to play with.
