New user here from Indianapolis. I actually used Ubuntu to salvage some files on a hard disk that was unbootable in Windows. Not susre what happened, but I was able to backup the files using a LiveCD. After finding Ubuntu very easy to use, I decided to go with it wholly (after I replaced the hard drive). I'm using 7.10 on my Dell Inspiron 8600 and besides a small hiccup trying to connect to my wireless DSL, I've really enjoyed using it.:)
