I installed VMWare today and tried to install Solaris from the DVD, PCBSD from an ISO and NexentaOS from another ISO.

Each time the window starts.... and then nothing. What could be wrong?

Try running vmware from a terminal, that will display error and diagnostic messages... you could post these messages here for a clue

Well, I was running VMWare without SUDO, hence the nothingness. Strange thing though that I have to SUDO to make it work.
