Hi y'all,
i need to put Xorg onto a server running Arch Linux. However, the system is so ancient i can't do a simple package install, since Arch is a "rolling-release" distro, wherein every single package is frequently being upgraded. This particular system hasn't been upgraded for about two years, and upgrading so many packages at once might put it out of business.
That's why i prefer compiling Xorg from unmodified sources directly from some mirror site. But that seems to be a horrible task. Do i really have to download, unpack and compile every tarball separately, and then put it somehow manually together? Isn't there an easier way? TIA for any help.
