Not that Ubuntu is a guy or a chick (non sexist) but rather the rating system is implied, Basicly the rating boils down to how much you personaly like Ubuntu (how you feel in front of the box)

I'll take a stab at this one, although my following analogy probably doesn't fit nicely into the assumptions I make about your poll criteria...
I rank it a solid 5, "right at home", since Ubuntu is like a good drinking buddy of mine - solid, reliable, and we both take pleasure every now and then punching eachother in the face over a CLI interface after a good hearty fill of GUI beer...

She would need to grow up a little bit, but I see a lot of potential...

She is certainly great. A bit difficult to get to know at first, but once you know her she's great.

Good Grief! You guys need to get out from behind your computers and head for a real bar (or whatever). Linux really doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. :p :p :p :p

Is it safe to say that as I caress my desktop speakers with as much passion as I obtain? Of course this is after I kneel to her keyboad and enter all of the right digits. Slowly I turn her on -- to have her gorgeous eyes gleam of magnificent seduction.
What can I say, I just know how to push all of the right buttons...<3

Mannnnnnnnnn... I'm a geek, I know, and a nerd too.
I've had a Zx Spectrum, a Schneider PC, went to my uncles house because he had a weird mac with icons!!! I've seen with my own eyes a PDP10, I've had a white box 386 with 4mb, I've built computers for friends and my own, I tell people to use Gnu/Linux and specially Ubuntu, I crave for releases, I love updates. I roam wikipedia reading about history, philosophy but most of all Computer related stuff. I've even tried FreeBSD and Gentoo...why I don't really know.
For as long as I know myself, I wouldn't ever remember an analogy of an OS to a guy or a chick. I can't stop laughing, I quit, this is to much! This poll deserves a poll where we can vote it as the geekiest poll of all.
a... hum
I've voted 10.
/me turns red and kisses hoary CDs. And whispers:
Come here baby, let me hold you tight.

I'd say a 7. Great distro but in the anology provided...it would be like a *insert celebritys name here who went from good to crap after a while looks wise* instead of Angelina Jolie. That's like 9. I'll leave it at that.

10. 'nuff said.
Of course, I've yet to muck around with other Distros, besides a bit of DSL.
Ya, I know, I have no life, and I need a boyfriend.

Ok, after readin this thread, it is obvious that we are more than fans. The words "cult" and "zealots" come to mind. But I guess one man's cult is another man's respectable religion.
(yes I voted for ten too, I'm guilty as any)

As that disturbed, dishevelled, somewhat brainy character with socialization problems you're not too fond of now, but would be curious to see in another fifteen years or so.
