When i go to play online with americas army i click the get list button and nothing happnes,,,,this is the same way with warsov and openarena

i dont know what your problem is because i have not personally played that game. but from what i gather America's Army uses punkbuster for online and punkbuster doesnt work in Ubuntu.from what ive read there is no way to get punkbuster to work at the moment being.

PunkBuster servers work fine in the native version of America's Army 2.5 on Linux. You're talking about running newer, non-native AA versions in Wine, which the thread starter may be doing, but that's still irrelevant at this point. His problem is getting the list of servers to show up at all, and he has the same problem in other games that don't use PB. PunkBuster has nothing to do with the server list, either. It's an anticheat that server admins can choose to run on their servers, but it's optional.

Yeah i figured it wouldn't have anything to PB. But if you have to use it and it doesn't work i didn't see what would be the reason to get a little further to get stopped by PB. And sorry for not looking it up a little. I didn't know you didn't have to use it and that it works on AA. How come it doesn't work in other games then?

yea i am using the Linux version of Americas army...i still can't get any servers even in Nexus

It does, just not through Wine. If you're running a native Linux game (like AA 2.5), PunkBuster works fine. If you're running a non-native game through Wine (like AA 2.6+), that's when PB is problematic.
